Anyone have smoked corner and side lenses?
I'm having my car painted black right now and I was thinking about smoking my corner and side lenses. I wanted to see if anyone has done it and if so if they could show me a picture. I want to get mental picture before I decide to do it.

Look for my thread titiled 'Unveiling'. There should be a good shot of the rear tails in there. Don't need to smoke the side markers, have none.

VHT Nite Shades Coating
Create a custom look.
VHT's Nite Shades coating is a transparent black taillight lens coating for creating a custom look. When applied to taillights, fog lights, or turn indicators, VHT Nite Shades appears black--until the lights are lit. Then the natural color appears; red, in the case of taillights. It's recommended for off-road use only, as it may not be legal in some areas.

i am so glad i found this thread. i've been trying to find taillight black out paint, and even though i got it before at canadian tire, they don't stock it anymore...
do you scruff up the inside of the lens first before you spray, or just clean it and spray?...i was thinking maybe using a really fine sandpaper to help make the paint stick better...any comments?
oh, did you leave those little squares unpainted on your taillights? or is it just the way it looks normally

I tried a little something different, I sanded the letters off the lenses before I tinted them, then I just put them on the inside of the fender for a cleaner look without the moulding on the car. It looks a little sketchy with the screw heads showing, but once I weld on a little tab it will be much slicker. The shape of the hole isnt even that bad!

really i didn't even think for a second that you would paint them on the outside.
is this the way everyone does it?
i am goign to do my side markers as well, should they be painted on the outside too?
