anyone have a full aluminum dash?
anyone have a full aluminum dash?
I am going this route. My friend works for autoFab in santee. He does an awesome job when it comes down to aluminum fabrication. I just wanted to see your guys setups if you have gone this route. Thanks
im replacing the guage cluster and center console with alluminum
guage cluster, 5in tach (center), oil temp and pressure, water temp, and boost.
center console, 3.5 in speedo (160mph) fuel pressure and level, WB air fuel, clock, and something else but I cant think of it. Plus the warning light set from the stock guage cluster.
ultra-lite with blue lighting

If the whole dash is aluminium, prepare to be blinded whenever the sun is behind you.
Nowadays shiny accents are back in, but in the 50's they'd have wide swaths of metal, be it chrome, fishtiled steel or aluminum, or whatever, across the dash. The reason they stopped doing that was in the 60's safety-era, when it was determined that such things could cause dazzling reflections inside the cockpit and cause the driver to be suddenly unable to see the road. When it's li'l bits here and there it's far less likely, but a flat span the width of your car will sooner or later reflect into your eyes.
In race applications it's done as the weight advantage can be significant (removing everythin unfer the dash, keeping only gauges) but even then many guys paint the dash a matte black

thanks!
I like the carbon fiber one. I really like how clean the aluminum one is with the full interior. I just wish i had a right hand drive dash to start out with. I have no dash in my car. that is the way i got it. Thats another reason im going custom. Thanks for the feedback guys.
