Anyone have contact info for Sterling?
I've tried emailing him to no avail. I'm not sure if he's even getting my emails? I just wondered if anyone had any contact info that they could share with me so I can try to get in touch with him. Phone, email, mailing address, whatever. If so, please PM it to me. I would really appreciate it. I sent him a throttle body to be modified a while back, but I need it back now. I can't get in touch with him though. He's always been great to deal with in the past. If anyone can help out that would be great.
I'm thinking about going old school and sending him a letter in the mail? That's about my only hope at this point I think.

Yeah, I know that he has pretty much quit doing carbs. I shipped some emulsion tubes, venturis, and a throttle body to him to be modified right at the very end, before he announced he was not taking any more orders. That was back in the first week of December 2010. I knew it would probably take him a while to get them done, especially since he was behind on other orders. But it's been a year now, and I really just need the parts back at this point. Finished or not. No hard feelings. I just need them back so I can get my car running again.
I emailed him and told him I would pay the shipping, and pay for the work if he had already finished it. But I haven't heard anything from him at all. It sucks because he was always great to deal with in the past. I had him rebuild one of my carbs back in 2004 and he did an excellent job. I hope that things are okay with him. Kind of makes you wonder when someone totally disappears from something that they were such a big part of before.
At any rate, if anyone knows of a way I can get in touch with him please share.
Thanks,
Jamie

car setter on firer
this happened to me once, an old timer i used to get Z car advice from built my motor and was a real "sage" when it came to knowing these cars. he vanished one day, no contact at all. finally i was desperate, i drove to his house. i knocked on the door and his wife answered the door. he had died... truly missed. and suddenly everything made sense. i'm not saying that this is what has happened, but life sometimes gets REAL. and when it does, "playing with cars" doesn't really fit in. keep trying, but in the long run i suspect this guy has a lot going on right now.

Hopefully that's not the case. I know from his time spent on the forum over the years that he has children so for his sake and his family's, I hope that everything's okay with him and he's just busy. Those types of unfortunate events have crossed my mind a couple of times as a real possibility. The Rx7Club sure was a lot more fun when he and Rx7Carl were on here all the time. Sterling was never afraid to prove someone's ignorance when it came to the Nikki carb. He added a lot of very valuable info to this forum.

Lives on the Forum
I haven't heard from him in several months. He hasn't been on his forum either, but it was down for a few days and somebody must have fixed it, so I'd guess he is still around.
I hope things are alright with him. I know he recently had another child, and with the economy and job market the way it is, that can be a hard blessing to handle.
So maybe new child + falling economy = no time to play with cars.

Kentetsu,
Do you have a logon for his BYMC forum? I tried to register, but wasn't able to. Is there any way you could try and contact him thru his BYMC forum? I was going to post a message to reach out to him, but didn't have any luck registering.

Well, I went old school and sent him a letter thru the mail yesterday with a stamp and everything. Hopefully it will reach him. I wondered if maybe he's lost his internet service, or had to shut it off for personal financial reasons? Hard telling, but I know times are tough for a lot of people right now. Sometimes you have to make the tough decisions, and I know that having internet is a luxury that some people appreciate more than others.
We'll see what happens I guess...
