Question anyone ever use "restore"?

just wondering if you have had any good or bad results with using this product? i just now put the 4cly can in. wondering whats going to happen.

No, do not use it. Restore used ingredients that "fill" the gaps in piston rings etc. in order to boost compression in piston engines.

For a rotary, you want to clean it out, not fill the gaps. Just run a can of Seafoam through the gas tank to get the seals moving freely and you'll be all set.

well i'm also using seafoam right now, is it going to be bad that i just put the restore in?

i dunno im just gonna guess and say it was bad...you are trying to use something designed for filling gaps on pistons and we need a smooth surface so that everything travels more freely..

I think it says on the can NOT to use it on 2 stroke or rotary engines. Can't remember exactly which one. Its toward the bottom of the can if you read it all the way down.

there should be something in the 1st gen faq about not using restore. seriously, i have never heard anything about restore on here until now.

Yeah lol probly not a great idea. but i did use it in a 3000GT I had and it made it stop using as much oil and completely stoped the smoking. They should make a rotary formula that would be sweet!

Yeah, I've used the product on boinger motors before and have been happy with the results. Unfortunately, what works for pistons does not always transfer over to dorito motors...

arrg, i was so busy with work i just now got around to changing the oil. good thing i live less than 1/4 mi. from work. hopefully no damage was done.

yup stuff works wonders on piston motors brought compression up over 20 psi on a old subaru wagon
