Anyone ever had wheels restored?

I'm trying to put together another set of wheels but they have some curb rash and knicks. Can shops restore wheels to the point where the curb rash would be gone? How do they do this, do they add metal or what? Basically, can they make a scraped up lip on a wheel look like new?

thanks

There is a place here in Dallas that restores aluminum wheels. They add aluminum with a welder then chuck them up in a lathe to machine the area to its original shape. Bad side is the minimum charge is $150 per wheel.

I've used Wheels America to restore some old wheels before. Cost me 100/wheel, and the results were amazing.

They're a national chain, and I have every intention of giving them more business in the future.

Now that you mention it, the place here is called Wheels America also. Do they charge different prices for different wheels?

Remember me? LOL!

Yeah mine where in rough shape. Find my link on my refinish of my Hayashis.

Hit up...

Fast Forward Wheels in Monterey Park, CA. Ask for Eli. Tell him you got his info from RX7club and "asianimage" with the white 7. He knows me...will give you a good deal.

Most wheel refinish is about $100 a wheel...depending on how bad. So...he will be fair and does a great job.
