anyone around Snowflake AZ? BIG probs?

Hey guys I have a big problem with my rx7?
yes i have removed the rats nest,I have removed the air pump and installed a blockoff plate on the air control valve thing? its on the pass side i think its egr??
OK the 7 will crank and crank the sputter and slowly come alive the motor is about a year old the car has only 117k on it, its an 84 Gs,the car will run and drive
fine but this morning i brought my girlfriend to school and it died at a stop light luckily for me i was on top of a hill and coasted it and got it running well the car will idle sometimes and sometimes it wont sometimes it will have alot of power and bad idle, sometimes it will idle and be slow as hell when i floor it,it feels like the gas pedal has something restricting it i cant see anything that could be stopping it.
The closer i got to home it felt like i was running out of gas or plug wired were on backwards, I let the car sit and it started right up,the car had alot of gas running through it i could smell raw gas, I really need this car to run right dont we all think that?
Well if you have any advice on it please try to point me in the right direction Thank you rotary addiction....

it may be a long shot but anytime things like this happen, look at the cheap inexpensive parts first. it sounds like it could just need a new fuel filter. have you changed it in a while? If that isn't it, then look into spark plugs, and wires. it could be in the distributer or coils. if it isn't that, it could be in the carburator. you just have to check these things one at a time. i like to start with the cheapest and work my way up.

sounds like a vaccum leak. Did it run fine before you worked on it? If yes go back over your work and find that leak.

I once looked for a vac leak after de-smoging my fb for 2 days, before I figured out the block off plate was about 1mm too tall and was hung on a raised part of the carb, preventing a good seal. 2 min with a file and bingo, GTG!
