That will tell you what you need to do to adapt the 2nd gen alt you have into your '79. Really, the alt only needs two wires:

There is the output wire that goes to the fusible links and then to the battery.

The top wire on the tee connector in the back (goes to a switched ignition source)

The bottom connection on the tee is for the alt warning light. What exactly is the car doing? Is it just losing fuel pressure or are other electrical symptoms present? Are you sure the new alt is okay? Maybe take the alt to AutoZone and have it checked out is you continue to have problems.
