Exclamation any one who can help please do !!!

Well ive run into a problem, i have just purchased a 1979 rx 7 and the previous owner cut the entire rear end off, he did not touch the frame but there's no tail lights or rear bumper. he also cut the roof off and the top of the doors off where the windows roll into. I am looking for parts in my area or parts that are easy to ship. i need basically a roof and rear lights and bumper. If anyone has any parts please let me know. Hmm and if any one has ideas for achieving more power out of my little 12a i would love to hear. thanx !

The car is a unibody. Not having a roof will greatly reduce it's structural rigidity.

I can't believe you bought a car like that with intentions on repairing it.
It must not have been in very good condition for someone to hack it up like that UNLESS HE IS INSANE. You might be insane too.
And I am trying to be helpful before you dig yourself a very very deep hole.

For the most part, a unibody chassis with major structural holes is not worth repairing....
If you could post pics, I'm sure the guys here will be able to tell you how much work/$$$ you are looking at... but it may not be worth it....

...on the bright side though, there are lots of cheap cars out there, with intact bodies!

I hope that car was for free!!! SA's and FB's aren't really worth anything, go find a cheap running or near running one with a COMPLETE body.

alright i get it !!!

well now i understand that no one thinks i can doo this but i just might use the rear hatch to a pontiac fiero or toyota mr2 to sole part of my problem. the frame of the car is fully in tact so i just need the body parts. I can weld up a roll cage to increase rigidity especially where the roof was removed. The previous owner was crazy and thought he could turn it into a targa seven or something. Hes telling me to find some opel parts and hes just crazy. now i need rear tail lights and rear bumper. So bassically any one in my area with the parts????

The body should have had a full cage put in BEFORE the body was cut. It is so out of whack now you may never be able to get it straight. Go talk to a professional body man and see what he has to say, someone that does frame straightening, not just panel beating.

Personally, if you spend the time and money to put the car back together, you're crazier than the guy you bought it from. Not trying to be harsh, but reality bites some days.

I think I know the car this person bought. THe guy told me $200 and it runs and drives. He said it was an 84 body with 79 engine, tranny and interior (had both years title). Said I would need taillights to drive it. The funny part of it is that on a local rotary board, his screenname is targa-7. I almost bought it for parts, as I need the front body parts, plus the engine is very clean.

Dont rebuild the car, it is beyond repair. It is an excellent parts car though.
These dont show much, but here are a few pics and the links in case the pics dont show up.
