Any hints on how to remove door panels?

I am removing my doors panels and installing electric locks. Any helpful tricks to removing the door panels? Note that I have manual windows.

Unscrew the screws. That's all there's ever been to it for me.

open the door. leave it open lock the thing because itll get in the way.

unscrew all the screws . door puller. handle all that.

be gentle on the door puller. itll break up.

gently pull the top out and the bottom out. its held on by door clips. fairly simple but hard to put back on.

then do the left and the right and its on

putting it back on. bend teh clips outward a little if they wont stay in. and push them in with a screwdriver thats all.

p,s, this is for an 84

I just wanted to make sure that I did not need one of those door panel pullers.

Here are some pics of my door, they have been redone so I am not sure if they differ from stock
Thanks

The centers of a stock are usually cloth. You should have used some 1/8" foam before vinyling. I'll be doing mine simialar to that very soon. Only the center will be faux suede. Looks okay otherwise man.

Once you have removed the plugs in the arm rest and window crank, then the screws, slip a putty knife between the panel and door, slide until you feel a clip, pry up. If the door card has had water damage, there is a good chance the clips will tear out of the backer panel.

Once everything is loose, pull bottom of panel away from door and push up to clear the top of the door.

Unscrew all the screws. There are, I think, 7? Two in the armrest, two in the handle, one in the guard for the door handle mechanism, one in the front/center of the door, and one in the handle for the windows.

Then, pull away the bottom of the panel first. Depending on how tight your clips are, you might need to wedge a flathead screwdriver in there. Anyway, work you way up from the bottom. When all the clips are popped, then lift up and away from the door.

Ahh, the hell with it, here, I'll do something in paint for you:

The red circles are the screws, the blue is the location of all the clips.
