any advice for taking off the carb, or anything i should know?

any advice for taking off the carb, or anything i should know?

i do not think that my accelorator pump is working properly, so im going to take off the carb and put the other one i have on, or just try to rebuild the one i have now. just wondering if there is anythign wierd i should look out for or something like that.

well, it's a bit tedious, but it's not very hard. 4 nuts hold it down, plus the linkage, cables and OMP lines - that's it. my only bit of advice is to make sure you remove the nuts and put them somewhere away from the engine bay ... they have this magical power of jumping from the strut tower and into the intake runners - don't ask, just trust me!

why not just rebuild the acc pump while it is on the carb. Do a search, sterling had a good post on this.
If you do pull the carb, it is handy to have one of those long flexible magnet thingies. Makes it easier to get the nuts off. Especially when you drop one.
