Are antennas interchangeable?

Anyone know if there would be any problem using like an 82-85 antenna on a '79? Someone broke mine a while back, and I haven't fixed it yet, but I'm thinking about trying to buy an antenna from anyone who is parting out their car. Thanks.

I'm not positive, but I don't know why there would be a problem... unless they're mounted differently?

Yeah, I can't imagine there could be much of a noticable difference. If they weren't interchangeable, I might be able to take my old one and the new one and make some sort of hybrid out of them.
