its been about a year in the making but the project is almost finished. im just waiting on my carb plenum to be welded up and my new clutch master and slave cylinders to arive, but none the less she starts and runs w/o any leaks.
its taken me longer than expected to get where im at now due to re-thinking/re-designing/and re-making a lot of systems due to paranoia of blowing my motor.
the current setup is as follows.
Engine: '82 12A w/ modified and shimmed oil pressure regulators (60psi cold idle/35psi warm idle), modified front cover w/ turbo oil drain and OMP delete, modified S4 turbo manifold, S4 turbo w/ ported wastegate w/ 2.5"downpipe to a 3" stainless elbow, S4 TII waterpump and aluminum pump housing, modified Ford Taurus electric fan, S5 alternator, RE-speed oil filter pedestal w/ -6AN oil feed to turbo, AEM UEGO wideband O2, autometer boost guage
Ignition: MSD 6AL firing an S.S. blaster coil through distributor, MSD 6BTM direct fire w/ dual blaster2 coils, stock dizzy still retaining centrifugal advance for off boost response
Drivline: GSL rearend swap, Clutch masters stage 3 clutch/pressure plate
Fuel: Walbro 255 in-line fuel pump, 3/8" fuel feed and 1/2" return, fuel tank from my '79 SA modified w/ an intank surge/catch can, OER 45mm sidedraft carb and manifold (from Rotaryshack), Aeromotive A1000 RRFPR holding rock solid at 4 psi for a base fuel pressure, autometer electric fuel pres. guage
other than that the engine bay has been cleaned up and a lot of un-needed wiring and electrical bits have been removed and/or repositioned
...thats about all i can think of off hand for now. now time for pics

thx
there is actually a sheet metal square under the carpet that the msd's are mounted to. it was sort of a last resort location because for the life of me i couldnt find any other appropriate location to mount 2 big red boxes

LOL...thats the same spot that i mounted my MSDS as well...and since i don't have a dash or any interior, i mounted a switch panel just in fron of the shifter...
Your Project looks really nice...hope to see some number soon

Looks great, just 1 question why the coils on the floor passenger side, why mounted to the left of the passenger side area or so?
Well if nobody's gonna be sitting there, ignore that =D
Love the car tho.

Awsome. Nice work with the wiring
I am very interested in seeing how that MSD 6btm works for you, I just have a locked dizzy and msd 6al
Mine should be moving next week once the UEGO and DP get here!

you will need to lock your dizzy or the motor will blow up
in order for the 6btm to retard the timing properly you need 2 of them. one to retard the leading timing as well as the trailing timing

hmmm... i figured that the split between the leading and trailing ign. would be sufficient at full advance w/ the leading being retarded roughly 10* via BTM.
...ill PM you
...ill PM you
well the stock unmodified distributor centrifugal weights inside advance the timing 25-30 degrees (depending on wich year dist. you have) for both leading and trailing. so, if you pull 10 degrees out of just the leading your still going to be too far advanced at rpm and the trailing will be way advanced, even with a 5 degree split..
