another question about S4 NA motor into GSL-SE

my engine being dead, i've decided to go with a S4 NA motor as a swap. i've done my research on actually mounting the motor in my car.

next i have to think of how to make the motor run. i'm thinking it would be kind of a neat experiment to use the stock fuel injection, intake, and ignition from a S4 (i'm hoping to find a donor car that i can pull anything i need from).

now... the hard part; the computer. would i replace the SE computer with the S4 computer, or would i need to have them both running in tandem (the S4 computer for the engine harness, and teh SE computer for the cabin harness)? the stock computer action would be a temporary measure, as i would eventually like to run a standalone EMS like a microtech.

thanks for any help.

Installing the engine with the right parts is easy. Figureing out the ECU and FI stuff is hard. Good luck.

i definitely second the sentiment that Jeff20B stated. also, i DEFINITELY encourage using the Microtech.

my advice ... and i realize i may be out of place. skip the interim headaches of figuring out the Mazda ware and just get a temporary carb setup until you get your Microtech. i know it's a step backwards just to move forward, but it just seems like stressing once is better than stressing twice.

my two cents ...

by the way, if you want to use the Mazda stuff check threads by Redwood and Hornmb (not sure if that's the correct name) i think they did similar swaps using the Gen II harnesses.

Yes, get a microtech or a Haltech E6X. I tried to use the Mazda EFI setup but never could get the car to run right. After a lot of messing around I went with a E6K. So much better. And going turbo is EZ after that.
