I'm in need of some help, I've done a lot of searching and reading on the schematics of the 1982-1985 FB ignition switch, but it still leaves me clueless.
I wired, soldered and installed the toggle switch/start button in my 240SX in less than 20 minutes, so I'm not completely clueless with car wiring.
My FB is keyless and the owner was starting it with a pair of needlenose pliers, well it worked for me, until I got home with it. Now it's down to just the bare contacts board with all of the wires soldered to it. I am touching multiple wires together to see if I can start it, but it's not turning over. This is what I gathered:
White/Red - 12V
Blue - Accessories
Black/Yellow - Fuel Pump
Black/White - ON
Red/Black - Brake
I am touching White/Red to Black/Yellow, Blue, and Black/White
All dash lights come on, fuel pump is heard, and A/C blower motor is useable. But no crank. What other wire needs to be touching to engage the starter?
Should I go through the trouble of installing a push button switch or just order a used FB ignition w/a key? This button starter would be more of a temp. replacement.
Thanks in advance, and yes I've searched.
