Another First gen goes in for a re-sprey

Some pic of my friends "new" first gen, these are the BEFORE shots as its is about to go in for a complete respray in its original colour!

This 7 is TOTALLY Stock, he even spent $2000 just to get an ORIGINAL Stereo in it! will post more pics in a few weeks when painting is done.

Good to see another Ricer modified First gen come back to the stables and reborn as its maker intended.

Did you take all the moldings and stuff out yourself? Is it because you don't trust the paint guy to do all that work?

The car is Australian. All the dashes are like that.

Looking good, no 13BT for this one then?

The re-spray is being done by Custom Body works In Sydney, the owner, lives right next door, so it is being done on a mates rates basis, and so removing all the mouldings etc were done by myself and my friend

It is a 83 Model Series 3, Im not sure about the US and canada, but getting hold of OEM Stereos here in Oz is VERY difficult. he replaced everything, including the OEM amplifier that sits near the rear windo washer. If you look at the middle pic, you can see the NERF spoiler sitting on the grass to the right of the pic, there is nothing wrong with the spoiler and it will be replaced,

First gen Mechanical parts are easy to get, but original interior and body parts are getting harder to find.

Since he bought his first gen, and i am always over there with mine, and another female frind of mine keeps turning up with her Gold Series 1, the 7 bug is catching, his next door neighbor just bought a nice Second gen NA 13B, and it is due for a re-spray very shortly.

Good to see so many nice and ORIGINAL (or near to it) Old school 7's in one short street! i love it.

Ultralights - he got ripped. I got a mint OEM stereo, equalizer, balancer, speakers and amps sitting in my garage. Every person with a series 3 does!

I would have be surprised if I could have sold the lot for $100...$2000! Who sold it? Mazda? Wrecker? They are not that uncommon.

I reckon he would have come up with three or four sellers within a day if he advertised on ausrotary.
