another coolant leak

i think.... on the Driver's side of the motor, on the side where the spark plugs are, closest to the front cover i always have some kind of moisture. to me it looks and feels like trans fluid, but i know that isnt possible as this is no where near the trans. i know it is not oil, so my guess is some really dirty coolant! i believe its the water pump but i am not certain... has anyone ever run into this issue before? and what did u find to be the culprit. i did search as well, but found nothing quite the same as what i am looking at... most water pump leaks in the forum refer to fluid dripping down the front cover, not running down the side where the plugs are.... any help would be appreciated. thanks.

trans fluid is pretty oil-esque.

i know this sounds weird but smell it. Trans fluid/brake fluid/oil/coolant all have unique smells

worth a shot to try and make sure it is coolant or not...

Oh boy, Hopefully it's not a dowel pin leak... That's what it sounds like. Clean it up and drive around and see where its coming from. If it's coming from in between the front or middle iron and the front housing it's a dowel pin leak. This will need a rebuild to fix the leak. My 12a had it..running down the front rotor housing making it look nasty near the sparkplugs. Post a picture if you can.

is the coolant pooling on the 12A engraving plaque thing on the front rotor? Could it be a leaking from cover seal? Havent had an engine apart yet so idno if thats possible. But from where you drew the box it seems a little to removed from the water pump for it to be that

well its on the drivers side where the plugs are... not up on top, but near the top, and no it isnt pooling, just running down the side right behind the front cover.... what do you think? i will take pictures today.
