anbody redone their underdash chrome strip?

I bought as many OEM pieces as I could when it was still available
The 79 and 80 SA each have different styles strips. Maybe an auto trim shop would have some chrome (plastic) wheel well-trim that would work? The SA pieces are just glued in-place and quit easy to remove, leaving a blank slot that you could lay the "new" moulding into??
Doors are a different story Whole panel would need to got to someone like JustDashes - and we're talking $$...

what i did on the strips that go down the door ...is i went to 48 lumber and bought metal primer...it was like 4.50 and then i bought black metal paint 3.50...then i went to wal-mart and bought clear coat for import cars 6.50...this was like 1 year ago and they still look good
