Amps in first gen...
OK you first gen owners... Where's the best place to put a big amp (25" (L) x 11" (w) x 2")? I'm thinking under the passenger seat, and maybe I'll put a computer fan there to help cool it off.
BTW--What kind of amp would you recommend that's around $150? (I posted this in the audio section but it seems like no one ever goes there...)
Thanx!

The Blaupunkt Class T amps are cool... nice, small, cool, not to mention awsome looking (if you're into looks). A bit more cash than you're looking for tho...

I have two Alpines (MRV1000 and MRV400S) same size your talking. I took my behind the seat storage bins out, cut the plastic, wrapped the carpet around (so I still have some room to put cd's in) and put my amps in that space. Make sure you have no holes down there or your in trouble. There is enough space for my two amps, distro block, and caps. And its out of site. I dont have fans but you could easily cut a hole through the metal for an intake and exhaust fan if needed. I have some carpet layed down inside of the compartment so it looks nice. Easy to run wires too.

i have 2 kenwood amps in the hatch. 2 BIG kenwood amps a 301 and 501 excelon's. they are right by the rear brace thing that hold down the carpet but take up all of the room side to side. the cool thing is i have a false floor in the hatch so you cant see them and it doesnt takeaway anyroom from the int. i can still take off the roof and put it in the back with no prob.

Hehe... I'll be expecting those pictures
(Sorry to ask again) Does anyone have recommendations for amps? I'm stuck on this one cuz I can't spend too much over US$150... I'm currently looking at Crunch Power Zone 500x2 and a Lanzar Vibe 600x2. I have a Rockford Fosgate Power Punch HX2 DVC 10" waiting to be used...
Thanx

The local high end stero shop here has an Emerson 600W amp for $150. They say its a good amp they got cheap and they're "
passing the savings on to you". Of course it could just be a hunk of junk. What do you think?

OMG... Pyramid?! THEY SUCK!!!!!!
Well... guess what... Today my dad and i went to a local high end stereo shop that carried Kove armageddons
My dad takes a good look at the 10" Armageddon M series and now wants me to get those--he says they look sturdy (cuz it has a cast aluminum basket)
So... there's a possibility I may move up from fosgate to kove. Now i'm gonna need a better amp than that legacy or crunch. ARGH--this is a hard one

Actually those Lanzar amps used to be good, then they got bought out by Pyramid. So who knows now, but I have installed quite a few of the Vibes amps and never really had a problem. But mostly Pyramid and the like I usually wont even install at work. Want a good amp in a low price range... Check out an Alpine flex series or even a small V12... $150 for an amp isnt a lot to work with... Might check into a Kenwood amp, I beleive Sear's carries them and cheap...

OK! I've decided (I think) on what I'm gonna get!!! (Aren't you glad to hear?)
10" or 12" Kove Armageddon M-series (I might upgrade to Z series, depending on deals the guy makes me)
Kove ZX500 (or 1000 depending on the deal again...) Amplifier
Rockford Fosgate Capacitor (a cheap one that my friend will sell me)
BAM! I think I'll enjoy my little extra punch
What do you think?
