am I gonna pass PA inspection?
Hey guys, I should be getting the title for my car soon, and registering it and all that crap, so I'm also gonna have to pass PA's safety inspection... I'm normally from MD and i know a guy, but long story short, I'm gonna get it tagged up here where I go to school. I do not have a cat converter on my car, i simply have header to straight pipe to muffler... there aren't any leaks in the system at all, but do they check for a cat converter in PA in the safety inspection? everything else on the car works fine (lights, wipers, brakes, etc etc etc) and if it won't pass... anybody know a guy who might be able to help me out?

a little fyi for anybody in PA (i have this in the regional forum as well), as long as your car is 20 years or older (including 84's) you can register the car as a "classic" note NOT antique, but classic cars do NOT need to have a cat converter on it at all in order to pass the safety inspection. Great news for me looks like I'll have my baby on the road as soon as my friend mails the title to me !!!!!!

lol, now that I KNOW the answer you guys are popping left and right answering but yeah, I'm gonna get classic plates. the $75 vs. $22 classic vs. regular is fine with me. And then I can show off how my "classic" kicks the crap out of your "sweet civic"

20-24 yrs = classic.
25 + yrs. = antique.
it varies from state to state. for instance, maryland (where i'm from) only has "classic" which is 25+ years, which is why i'm registering the car in PA (since emissions is not needed for classic cars)
google it
