Aluminum plate ID on a 1980SA

Looking at purchasing this 1980 SA. I've never seen this oddball alum plate before? Is it some kind of a transmission adapter?

thanks!

Prevents the engine from rocking on the soft factory mounts, helping minimize the amount of shock the driveline sees when vehicle is driven aggressively

well, you know what happens when they start hanging with the wrong crowds. they start drinking premix, snorting nitrous oxide and pretty soon they're on to shooting PCP and Nitrometh!

Nice!

Thanks all. I'll go test drive the beast this weekend. I'm sure it'll blow the doors off my turbo LSX powered 79... Mabe I need a RB torque plate on it.

You don't need the RB torque brace if you have competition motor mounts or hockey pucks.

Ever since the hockey puck mod, my engine sits rock solid. I bet I could yank plug wires off a running engine and it wouldnt even wiggle
