Question Alternator Swap 84 se to 81 12a

I just picked up a 1981 GSL RX-7 w/ a stock 12a. Had a problem as soon as I got the car home with the battery not holding a charge. Went through normal route in this situation and determined the Alternator was bad. I have got a ton of parts off of my other RX-7's, but they are all for the GSL-SE.
Anyone have any info on, if the a Alternator off of a 84 GSLSE will work properly on a 1981 12a motor and charge the battery properly?
By the way, Seems to bolt on and the belt lines up just right. Fired it up and did seem to charge the battery, the little bit of time i did run it. To afraid to run it too much right now w/ out knowing for sure if it's ok.

Any Info on this would be great, Thanks.

As far as I know, they are exactly the same alternator. No differences what so ever.
