Couple quick questions:

1. Is the alternator from an RX2 compatible with an SA RX7? They look similar, but I don't have the cars side by side to compare...

2. Anything I should specifically look out for on a 79 RX7?

As far as the first question, it's been so long since I looked at a Rx2. Wait it was a week ago,lol. They looked the same and both have an external regulator. But most people upgrade them to a newer style alternator.

What are you wanting to know about the Sa's? Are you looking to buy one?

 

I realize that from searching the posts... in this case, I have a freshly rebuilt alternator for my RX2, and am looking at a '79 RX7 that needs an alternator before I can drive it home. I'm hoping to just throw my spare on the 7 so I don't have to trailer it home... It's a ways from here, and was hoping somebody would know before I waste my time driving out there to find out.

I have no idea... I am looking at a 1979 that has had some race prep... it's cheap, it looks like fun. I'm not taking it *too* seriously since the price is right, and even if I don't keep it together I can transplant everything into my RX2, but I'm interested in any major points of interest that would be a deal breaker...
