alternator
mY VOLT METER SUDDENLY DROPPED TO THE 0 mark and the temp meter also then one headlight would not open. On the way home the cop had to get his two cents in. convinced him that my right headlight was too working. let me go.now to take the alt in to be checked, and get a new temp sender . also my fuzsble links are hot to touch, any ideas there? Thanks.
sounds like wiring problem, not alternator problem. fusible links will be hot if there is excessive current goign through them, although too hot and they should break the circuit. Time to chase down a loose wire down somewhere.
EDIT: also IIRC the wiring problem should make your gauges do funny things too, so the temp sender may still be fine. If ya need any help pm me i'm not too far from jackson.

Since many of the parts places around here offer free alt testing if you take the alt off, and our alts are so easy to take off, I'd start there myself. Then since one headlight isn't working but the other one is, I'd crack open the Heynes and trace that circuit back until I found something wrong. Check all your fuses, though I'm sure you have, and I'm sure it wouln't half-blow on a fuse like that.
Good luck.

Good luck.

Headlight was a loose connection, fixed. Think I will steal the alt and temp sensor from the parts car, and also the clear lense fell off the r tail light in the car wash, Is it trying to tell me something?
