alternate alternators

I am adding several more things that cause electrical load on my alternator (elec fan, stereo, etc.), so I figure I should get a more powerful alternator. Lots of people use turbo II alternators, but there are no 2nd gens in my junkyards at all. Anyone know of other alternators that will fit with little modification? Like a mazda 626, or mx-6, or diesel truck (i think they use 24 volts) or whatever?

is it a straight bolt in? Or do you need new belts and brackets?

Trouble is I'm too cheap to get a new one from a parts store.
The TII alternator will fit with an couple spacers and a different elctrical connector. Search the forum for info. There is a diagram somewhere.
The reason I posted this is so I could find out if there are any other alternators that will fit my car that I can find from a junkyard. There are no second gens in my junkyards but there plenty of other mazda cars ( 626's, 929's, mx6's, mx3's, etc.) Any of these fit? I know a lot of mazda cars were made in ford factorys too. Maybe they used the same alternators on some models. Hey they use the same clutch as a ford ranger diesel, why not?

Junkyards have a gigantic book (sometimes they have it on hard drive if it's a high roller operation, then it's a salvage yard... ) called a Hollander Cross-Reference Guide that can tell you exactly what you need to know. To Manntis, here you go....

Alternator conversion help...
