well, updating from last time...
got the carb apart, waited 2 days for a new gasket, and now im starting to put it back toghter, only prob is that we (dad and me) cant remember or find through instructions or pics that we took where this piece goes, any pics on where it goes or help would be appricated

It's your dashpot. It's mounted on the firewall side, and there's a well defined tongue on the linkage that comes up and hits the white button as the throttle CLOSES. There should be an outline visable on the airhorn right on top of the main throttle cable bracket. Two holes. You should have it on there, but I run without. Some like it. It's for letting the throttle nicely return to idle. This makes the car less jerky, and helps return to idle without being overly rich which helps backfire and emissions.
