All choked up...
Hi all,
Newbie to the forum, looking for next steps on my '84 12A choke **** problem; it suddenly won't stay out the required amount of time from starting (or at all).
I've checked continuity on the coupler as per Haynes manual (30-odd ohms so I suppose it's ok?); if it's not the magnetic choke body where else should I start looking? The carb body or attachments perhaps?
Been reading the board for a while now, and coming from Northern Ireland where rotary ownership and support is uh, non existent; I'd appreciate all the help I can get!

Thanks, I'll check that out when I get home, especially the last bit about the wires to the thermostat; on the UK model (mine at least) the choke cable goes directly to the rear of the carb body and is not connected to anything else. I thought that the function of returning the choke **** was controlled purely by the magnet in the assembly, and that is why the continuity in the coupler needs to be checked. I suppose it does need to know that the engine has reached temperature though...
