Air-Water intercooling, using a remote water pump/reservoir

I'd really hoped to run a completely different cooling loop for my intercooler, but it really doesn't seem all that worth it. I'd need a pump with an integral inlet and outlet, and when checking out summit every pump was at least 250. Seems like alot of dinero for something non-essential, while it would increase power and help curb detonation. So would running it through the primary cooling system. Isn't a high IAT about 250 or so, and with coolant temperatures about 180-190 it would still serve its purpose. And if coming striaght from the outlet of the radiator might the temps. be any lower.

So is it worth it?!?

250 for a pump
say 100 for a small seperate radiator (if desired)

Though I thought it might be just as good to drop a bag of ice in the reservoir when I wanted a bit of a gain. Or could simply running a single line in front of the radiator be enough to cool it?

Lots of questions.

It doesn't need to be high volume and I think that is what all of these pumps are used for, the primary means to pump coolant. If any one knows if karts or motorcycles have electric pumps, of a smaller type that would be kick ***, I think.
