ON Air pump

Does the air pump that goes to the catalityc in the 12 a if it has a problem does it affect performance? Where is it located and how can I test it?

Yes-- It's the small aparatus that's on the rotating assembly that isn't Power Steering, AC, or Alternator. In my experience if it spins it's working. If "air" isn't getting to the exhaust injection plumbing it's most likley an emissions control problem outisde of the actual air pump itself.

Get a Haynes manual or download a copy of your year FSM by coping and pasting the link in my signature.

I'll say it again as i have said it a thousand times. If you are going to work on your own car you need to have a manual for reference.

These basic questions such as "What is this part", or Where is located can be found in the manuals.

As far as the OP question.

It has been answered over and over and yes I am starting to crack down on these redundant questions as they just are cluttering up our site.

My tip to you is "Search" with the term Air pump and you will find you answers. :-)
