Air pump

I know there is no need fot the air pump, as it is just for emissions. But will an air pump from an 80 rx7 fit on my 81. Plus does anyone know what happen when the airpump goes??

Yes, they should all be interchangeable AFAIK. Uhhh, not to sound flippant, but it stops pumping air? You can get clogged cats from the unburnt fuel coking the cats.
