Question Air Intake

i was wondering, im working on cleaning my air intake out and there are a few pieces in there i dont know if i need them and can i remove them. i have pics.
1. the plastic piece on the side
2. the plastic flap piece on the inside of the air intake and the bar and coil its connected to.
i dont have my emissions anymore and all tubes that formally had hoses are plugged.
thanks, Ian

How about just cutting out that flap and removing the side peice and the little coil

I know nothing about modding the stock hats (I usually htorw them away) but it looks like none of that stuf is nessicary. I'd just throw it in the attic and get a shorter smaller replacment from autozone

I cut it all off. Just left the part directly under the filter.
