air/fuel monitor

Would a regular air fuel ratio monitor work on a rotary car when tuning it like a piston car?

Well, they "work", but you will need to install an oxygen sensor in your exhaust (assuming you dont have an -SE from your sig). As for how well they work or accurate they are, thats debateable. Im stil getting one though because it will at least give you a rough idea of whats going on. The one on my cousins 3rd gen seems to work ok for the most part. Its a little flaky at times, but then again, it is a turbo car...
