Come on now Carl, I though you took the biggest screwdriver possible and just twisted it till it's as tight as you can get it, then back it out......
J/P yea 2.5-3 turns out is the norm for starting point.

get your idle and timing set, then back the screw out until the engine starts to hunt down. then go back in a half turn. bam. that's just how i've done mine and just did it today in fact on my 83 i just got. set the idle down better, advanced the timing a bit, took the air canister off and ran a screen, bam the car feels way better now. woooo! oh and mech. secondaries. hahaha!

Put a timing light on the L1 wire, and point it at the driver's side/top of the crank. I forget if it's the red or yellow mark, I think it's the red one, yellow for trailing. Just loosen the bolt that holds the dizzy in and turn the dizzy till the mark lines up where you want it to be. This procedure is not for people who have no idea what all that means. Watch a few people do it first before you even attempt it.
