Air Damn for 1st gens (is it possible)
Air Damn for 1st gens (is it possible)
I am going to make myself an air damn for my SA! Yes, I will do it for myself regardless of how it works out.
What I would like is opinions of how to go about it. I have worked with FG so this isn't strange to me.
If someone has one laying around, I would love to pay for it and use it for mock up. If I did this and it got ruined at least I paid for it.
I don't want to start a business on these but if others want some I would be willing to sell the mold or pass it off to the next guy or maybe do one or two. But, I have no interest in doing it for a living unless there is a HUGE need.
I was thinking of making it similar to the one that is in the "1st gen body kit" thread that has big blue "RE-Speed" written on it.
I would also need to know how different the SA and FB are here just in case you FB guys want to lend me your spare or so I can make it interchangeable.
Anyway, I am serious about this, I need to get it right. I will also be making a one-off hood to fit my LS1 with some decent vents but that is another thread
Anyway, I am looking for feedback as in how hard this will be, do people actually care for these things, can I borrow or buy a used, new, or beat up air damn, and other questions that will come up.

hellz yeah. looking at tha mazdatrix one I do not likey. I would gladly pay for the nos kamei, so let him know i will give him money on the quick. While I work on it, I will try and not to mess it up so I can get a good mold of it too.
Actually when I get started on the hood people are going to go nutz

The "respeed" front you mentioned is a very nice oneoff piece, and, IIRC, I believe it was made very cheaply with ABS plastic. I have thought about mimicking it a few times. I just have so many other things going on at the moment.
You can run any FB front you like, but you have to do like a FB front end conversion. This is probably the route I will go so that I can run my new IMSA front bumper.
I really like the kamei front as well, and I have tried to snag one a few times, but it just never happened so I gave up. If you start making them, I would maybe be down for one, but I would prefer the original plastic version.
