Just took my 85 GS out of storage. The air conditioner is running all the time. I pulled the electrical connection in the engine and verified that the clutch isn't frozen.

What is the likely point of failure? Is there a relay somewhere between that engine bay electrical connection and the A/C control panel, or is it likely the control panel itself?

Well I had a problem with my 82 ac. The switch wouldnt stay on but in your case, the switch might be sticking. I just got a new switch at one of the wrecking yards. Other than that, I dont know what it could be.
