Buy an adapter that fits the rear of the waterpump, where the choke switch is. I got mine from sunpro . ordered it online.

you can tap the back of water pump housing. I will post the size when I get home.

There is a small hex screw at the bottom side of the motor that is for a block heater. That is what I used. I also have Autometer, it fits without and adaptor.

Right on, 190 degrees. You should have a hex screw there, you will have to use your fingures to find it. I also have no AC which makes it easier to get too.

you have it connected wrong. Shorted to ground somewhere.

I have auto meters as well, though I can't say exactly what the issue is I can say that my fuel gauge (that I still can't see to get to work right) swings way over when conected wrong. The temp gauge, so long as it's conected correctly on the gauge should give you no issue.

Check your ground again and the power is connected right.

i know wut you did wrong , i did the same thing. you have the wire that goes onto the sensor, actually touching the sesor, well , its not supposed too. thats why there is TWO nuts there (hehe nuts) just have one nut go halfway down the sensor and then add the wire (ring-terminal) and then the other nut, now hold the first nut and tight the last one, and now watch it work!!!! YAY, and your welcome.

carl.

p.s. rx7carl, do you know the specs on that adaptor, the one my dad made is leaking like a sift!! i would like to fix it..

ok, in back of the water pump housing, the thread pitch is metric but you can re-tap it with a 3/8 npt. take your time and use plenty of oil. the bushing that comes with any brand of temp gauge should work.
