Question Aftermarket stereo-Now how do I fill the factory EQ hole?

To any of you who have an aftermarket stereo in your 7, How do you fill the space of the factory EQ, since it is unusable now? I guess I'd rather not leave it there doing nothing except for attracting theves. Suggestions? Thanks-

I have a kenwood head unit and a kenwood small eq that fits right on trop of the head unit and fills the hole perfect.

This was just talked about last week...

https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...ighlight=metra

But depneds on the year you are refering to, the kit is only for a 84-85

Earlier 7's your own your own... Early 81-83 7's , there was an OEM pocket available when it didnt come with the EQ... But dunno how easy it is to source one of them...also early ones will have to be cut, and the sides of the inner dash structure modified to house a FULL DIN unit..

What year are you talking about?

Here in Australia these pockets are the same as what is in later model 626's and 'B' series pick up's and i would dare say many other mazda models..

I have one of those pockets in my 83, it's great for holding cd's and stuff, I think there is an 82 in a junkyard near me with one. I might grab it next trip if it's still there. I'll sell it if any of you are interested.

Thanks for the info. guys- My car is an '82 GSL, and, when it is convenient for you (82transam), I would be more than willing to give you a few bucks for your time and shipping if you could get that pocket, if it is in decent condition. 7's are pretty far and few between up here in Weeesconsin, so I usually always end up purchasing new OEM stuff. I already cut the stereo opening to fit the head unit, and it would not be a problem to do a little cutting in this opening.
