Aftermarket Steering Wheel + Size

I was hoping some of you folks could post some pictures of your aftermarket steering wheels, sizes, and any pro's / con's you've had with it. Trying to decide how I want to go for steering wheels on my project car.

I'd like to see as well. The standard wheel is massive and makes driving a bit awkward.

Most common complaint from those that have gone to a smaller steering wheel is it blocks the tach and speedo. Other than that, it makes the manual steering a bit harder due to reduced leverage.

Since I recently installed aftermarket seats with large upper side bolsters, I may need to downsize the steering wheel just so I can get in and out of the car., lol.

stock wheel is 15", IIRC. I went to one of those cheap 13" ebay wheels with a hub adapter you can get for $25. I was planning on changing wheels, and keeping the hub adapter, but ran out of money! I don't have any pics, but it be forewarned: it does block your tach off. I don't mind this at all, since you never have time to look at your tach at autocross anyway. The buzzer tells you when your shift is coming up. But I used to smack my arms into my legs at autocross when you go hand-over-hand (-over-hand-over-hand-over- hand....stupid steering ratios...) for those tight 180* turns. The smaller steering wheel definatly helped this. It also makes your car feel like suspicously like a go-kart. For me this is a pro, rather than a con cuz its fun as hell.
But again, since its a smaller wheel, it also makes low-speed parking jobs harder.

I'd suggest trying out the cheap ebay wheel if you need to buy a hub adapter anyways. Then if you don't like it, you havne't spent much money, or you can go to a 14" instead and be halfway between.

I have been looking at this one:

I love the style, but its a 350mm wheel which isnt much smaller than the stock one... about an inch.
Would I be better off with a 300mm or a 320mm since Im dishin out the cash anyway???

An inch will help. Whether its enough is probably personal preference. If you want to wait til my car is done, Gen1onr, you can have a seat and see if you like it. You don't get to autocross it though... lol.

I'm confused, why do steering wheels cost $400?

And how difficult is it to remove the standard wheel and put a new one in? And would replacing the steering wheel be a good time to figure out why my steering column vibrates?

I'm running a 13" Grant wheel. As stated above, it is sometimes hard to see the speedo, but it is worth the trade of to fit my thighs under the wheel.

After looking in catalogs (Jegs and Summit), I recently bought a Grant wheel from PeP Boys. I bought the correct adapter too. When I installed it, it did not feel as though it fit the shaft securely. I ended up taking it back. Some time back I had written to Grant for their adapter recommendation. It was the one I bought.
This was very frustrating. The splines just didn't seem to fit. To minimize scratching the wheel (so it could be returned), I didn't crank every thing down.
Should I just have tightened it up? Is this typical? This isn't a place I want to take chances.
