Anyone installed aftermarket/racing seats in their 1st gen. 7?

my new car (about to be delivered to me) is a 85 gsl-se...it has fd tan leather seats! there was mods done to the rails to make them work

yeah its not that hard ive got some cheap black ones(500$ for 2) and it took about an hour to install them. I dont have any pics because i just stripped my whole interior last weekend to install some new carpet. Ill try to get some pics when i go home from college this weekend

Go for TII seats, they are a direct bolt in, no modification needed, and they are both comfortable and sporty!

Oh yeah, they are original Mazda items, so you could easily find some that matches the rest of your interior!

I got a BRIDE Zeta III seat in it, straight from Japan! It's badass. I will never buy another seat (maybe a Recaro... possibly)

I painted mine black and as you can see, I missed a spot

They fit very snug

I have APC racing seats in mine that I just put in, they rock and a more comfortable than those original leather seats.

miata seats all the way....they fit the interior quite nicely...and the degree in engineering you need to make them fit comes in handy for future employment

If anyone is interested, I contacted Recaro because to see if they just did not list the direct fit brackets and they said they did not have them but told me to contact Wedge Engineering of Long Beach, CA to make custom brackets.
