Aftermarket intakes and A/C

Hey guys, do any of the aftermarket carb/intake kits work with air conditioned cars? How does the car idle up when the A/C is turned on if you had a Webber or Holley kit?
Thanks

Never tried it with weber but for holley carb, look into fast idle solenoid.

I am running twin weber 36 dcd's and I used the idle compensator from my nikki, along with the solenoid that controls it. I had to be creative on how to mount it.That black thing its bolted to is the throttle cable bracket. I added a extra arm to the linkage so it can open the throttle. Here is a pic:

Pretty cool... Thanks for the feedback. You have any idea where to get an A/C condenser for a 80?

rwatson, nice modification. Although that is the throttle opener, not the idle compensator

350xfire, with a little work you can fit an FC condenser in there. A used one is fine, just clean it out with acetone. It's just a tube with fins. No point in buying a new one unless you're going with a more efficient parallel flow.

rwatson, what are you using to drive the throttle opener. If I remember its operation correctly, engagement of the AC clutch kicks on a solenoid, which in turn applies vacuum to the throttle opener?

My Nikki is set to idle at 1000 rpm. The AC pulls it down to 600 or so, and it works fine. No extra stuff.

I think the reason I put the compensator (or opener, whatever it is) in is because mine would idle too low when the AC was on unless I adjusted the idle higher, and it bugged me.

May be because my ported motor does not have as strong of an idle as a stockport, not sure.
