Aftermarket fuel gauge...

any of you guys done this install on a 1st gen or know someone who has that I pick their brain? If you have not already seen it, I am a building a chumpcar for a little racing action but we are not made out of gold here so we have a limited budget and we can not afford to upgrade the whole fuel delivery system.

So on that note we are keeping the stock system in place then only mistake we did was we threw out everything we stripped from the car including the cluster and all the wire harness...I figured I would just install an aftermarket fuel guage but now that I am looking for info in regards to getting one of these installed I can't find any information...

I am not even sure if the sending unit is working, we haven't dropped the gas tank yet...so do any of you have info on this or know where I can find it...and I have searched this forum like crazy for 2 days straight now.

So after looking around a bit I think I might just go with a new fuel sending unit if I can find one or grab one from a working donor car or buy the "Universal" fuel sending unit from autometer and buy the Autometer "Elite" series fuel gauge...

You can actually program this unit to whatever sender you have in the car which is pretty cool...

here are the instructions on how to do it...I don't see why it would not work.
