AE86 Aftermarket Flares on a First Gen

Hey guys, I'm a Second Gen owner and this is my first time posting in the First-Gen section.

I was doing a photoshoot at a friend's new garage in Northern California when I spotted some cool rotaries chilling there. My friends had the idea that a set of AE86 flares he had would look perfect on the first-gen body. Sure enough, it really did! I know that ZG flares are already pretty over-played in the first gen scene, so maybe Ae86 flares would be pretty cool?

In case you were wondering, the FB does shoot flames like a rotary should:

And the other Rotary was this super clean Rx2:

Not big on flares myself, but those do match up remarkably well.

I'm not the biggest fan of flares myself since they don't look right on the FC. Just from cruising the forums here, it seems that the first gen and even the classic RX guys go with the ZG 240 flares. These particular flares are "Run Free" replica flares for the AE86.

as far as body modifications go, i prefer subtle changes that don't drastically change the stock lines. however, the flares have always been okay in my book. i don't think i would go so far as to get them on a car i owned, but i do think they look good.

also ... i really dig that SA-fireball shot! great job.

Man I should have used the AE-86 flares instead of the 240Z flares. They look like a better fit!
