Advise on engine compartment

Question Advise on engine compartment

hello everyone, just feeling around trying to get Idea's for my engine compartment, Engines out so I can work on it, LuLu (my 85 Rx-7) is silver all around factory color, I am planning on painting the car in the future, I have no clue as to what color yet, I was wondering what you guys think, I'm planning on cleaning the compartment up nice,considering painting it maybe black? not sure what do you all think, I have a few spots where the factory color is gone, am I'm just looking to make it look clean in there. What have you guys done? Any and all advise is appreciated. Thanks

I've did mine in black each time the car was repainted(currently blue). The black really makes everything you do to the engine stand out. Especially if you do know what color you're going to paint the car, it can't hurt. And the biggest thing is, it's cheap to do. Walmart paint works just fine(.98 a can).

i just finished cleaning my engine bay (it had rustproofing, took 3 MONTHS to clean)

My car is also silver, I used some datson silver spray paint. Perfect match.

Keep the engine bay silver.. just wash it up and clean it real well. You will be able to see any dirt or oil leaks much easier if an. Repainted engine bays can flake off after awhile unless it was prepped well, primed then painted, due to the heat.

yes on 2 counts, spray paint works, and black works with every color
