ON Adjustable rear swaybar

Another Newbie question, I have installed an adjustable rear swaybar from Racing Beat. It slides in and out of tubes for adjustment. What I need to know is what direction should I move it to increase or decrease the sway bar effect.

Making it shorter will make the bar stiffer (increase oversteer). Making the bar longer will reduce oversteer/increase understeer.

There ya go. When I put mine on I just jammed the sleeves all the way on and tightened it up. I can make the tail step out if I want it to but otherwise it's quite controllable. The real fun comes when it's raining. Just a little extra throttle and she steps out predictably every time. The one time I tried to adjust them I couldn't get the sleeves to move because of the lack of space and how tight the bushings are. Hopefully RE-Speed can come up with a better design.

Yeah it's addictive. The only problem I had was with the front bar. I had to modify the clips to get it in place, after I used it to do curls and build up my arms all winter.

Haha. That's why I plan to upgrade to the RE-Speed bar eventually. RB makes nice stuff but they make no effort towards lightweight.

The Respeed bar is a work of art, and made a substantial difference in handling compared to the RB bar that it replaced.

Is it a hollow bar? Adjustable? and where can I get one? I'm planning winter projects now in the vain hoope that I won't have major maintenance issues this year.

It is a hollow bar, very well made. dj55b has one on his FB and I took a good look while it was on a hoist. Very nice bar. It being hollow is one of the reasons it's better than the RB bar. That's why it's lighter. It is adjustable. Go to www.re-speed.com/ and click on the online catalog. You can order through them, or through www.rpmperformance.ca.

Keep in mind you would have to pay shipping and duties to RPM then shipping to you, unless you want to drive into Breslau to pick it up. Probably a little cheaper to order it straight from RE-Speed.

Its very similar, with little to no difference in price, Due to customs rapage

Yes but keep in mind customs rapes you to ship to RPM, then you have to pay RPM to ship to your home. So that's shipping into Canada, and then again to your door. It would cost a little less to ship to your home in the first place, since that's the end destination. They include pickup and delivery costs in the price of shipping, so doing it twice will cost a little extra plus take longer.

Yes it does take longer, but will re-speed ship to canada because billy told me to contact RPM? Also I am pretty sure they are not double charging shipping because for me shipping was quite cheap. Dunno how much re-speed charges though...

I've had stuff shipped in reasonably, except brokerage fees can be whimsical. I think it depends on country of manufacture? If I was really smart I'ld have it shipped somewhere near the border and drive over and get it.

I believe that the entire reason that Billy started working with RPM was so that people in Canadia would not have to be screwed over by the shipping charges. I would bet that the prices are very close, if not identical...

In some cases it works out to be cheaper depending on the amound and specifics of the product.

Because he (RPM) orders in Bulk and is a distributer of American made products, they pay far less on customs/brokerage etc. And i bet shipping is cheap because of the quantity of products being ordered

Yes, RPM has a lower brokerage for importing. They personally import across the border.

Canada prices are Re-Speed retail + 10% import. If shipped from them to you the shipping should not be much.

If shipped from us then you pay duties. These have notoriously been way more than the 10% RPM charges.

Only time Re-Speed ships to Canada is when RPM does not have inventory. That is increasingly becoming never to be the case.

Trust us, we worked this out so that Canadian customers come out better. Otherwise I would have not done it.
