Thumbs up Adj. Dash Pot?

Hi all, was wondering about dash pot adjusting, I have mine at max , and now when i shift ,the rpms barely go down at all, i dont know if this will hurt anything, but car seems to shift smoother and with little to no backfiring, and better acceleration...any comments on having the dash pot at this adjustment? ...i tried adj with haynes manual specs, but my way seems to work better.....

As long as it does not go so fare as to hit the metal part I dont see that there would be a problem. Mine was set about 2mm from going all the way in and it works fine.
