Accessory Switch located left of steering column??

Just out of curiosity- Anyone know what accessory used the switch located left of the steering column? (On my GSL it is to the right of the choke)..I have seen most of them blocked off with a factory plate. My blue bible even shows it blocked off.
I'm prob going to use this location to mount a 3 way for a pair of Hella driving lights.
Thanks

The plate is above and to the right of the hatch release, dimmer, fuel door release. It is located to the right of the power mirror button, left of the steering column. You kinda have to look to see it. It is definately factory. No kidding- the factory service manual shows it plated off as well. I wonder if it's a GSL-SE thing?

on both my GSL and GSL-SE, that location had the dimmer, fuel door release, and hatch release buttons.

Both My '84, and '85 have that location blocked off wiht a plate.

I was gonna put the LED for my alarm in there...

But I like the togle switch for the driving lights better

what driving lights?

if you mean the running lights/turn signals, there's already a switch on the left combo-switch stalk.

If you're refering to my question - I seem to remember some 84-85's having a set of driving lights, others had the vertical vents... I could be wrong though, or seen some that were customized....

Well that's perfect then. My switch will go in an originally intended position..I wonder if any of the factory stock switches are around? (My interior is bone stock and about 95% condition)

RXTbone- what parts catalog do you have? Mazda dealer? Factory?
