ac lines

hello group, i need you help, i have a 1985 12a rx7, the ac compressor is bad, i receive the new compressor but its for 134a, my question is: how do i retrofit it for it? because the new compressor does not have the nipples to fill it, thank you

Do you plan on doing all the work yourself? It will require the gauges and pump to pull a vacuum.

The ports on the compressor are the only fill and evac points for the a.c. system. I would not use that compressor.

Did you turn it over? Do you have a link to where you got it from? Compressors don't care if its R12 or R134A really, just the fill ports usually are standard for one type or the other. I think you need to read up on how to install and fill AC systems in general and then get back to us with bigger pictures, more detail and better questions. You need a vacuum pump and a gauge set at a minimum to do this yourself. You probably will want new hoses made as well if going to R134A.

Also, depending on how the other pump failed, you may need to replace the dryer.

Good point KC, you should always replace the dryer and the expansion valve when doing the compressor. Also, flush the entire system to make sure no residues from the failure are in the system as well.
