anti afterburn hose? ive never heard of that before...what is it/where is it located?

it's that oddly shaped pretty thick hose that comes off the rear passenger side of the carb and goes down to the lower part of the intake manifold. it cause's a shitload of idle quality problems. i guess i'm gonna have to fork out the 27 scrilla mazdatrix wants since nobody here wants to let me in on wether i can block the openings off or not.
