aaah, it keeps killing fuel pumps! over n over!

aaah, it keeps killing fuel pumps! over n over!

so far i have killed 2 carter fuel pump working on getting a 82 12a running, any ideas the origonal pump is working now, so i will try it again tomorro, but i guess it might need a rewire!

REWIRE! i had the EXACT same problem, and napa stopped exchanging fuel pumps for me after the third...lol. anywho...i found out that the fuel return line was clogged after i changed to an msd electric fuel pump...so you may have that problem as well...ALSO, try bypassing the stock fuel pressure regulator, it may be f'd up and restricting the flow of the pump, therefor burning it out...GOOD LUCK!

There is no stock regulator.

Since it's an 82, run a new power wire and ground the pump to the chassis as well as back to the harness. You should be covered then, unless you are mistreating the pump in some manner.

thats for all the help! i blew in all the lines attatched to the pump, but not the return i will try that next, its got power i figured thatout now, maybe it is clogged somewere
