91 13B in 83gsl question
hey guys its been awhile since i posted anything...... then again i havent been online in god knows how long. anyways, my question concerns a swap i am considering doing in the next few months or so.
im gonna be buying a 91 13b motor from a buddy of mine for $400. this includes the motor with about 130k on it, 5speed tranny, ecu, wiring, all the cooling and oil coolers. now my question is will everything be bolt on or is there goin to be any fabrication involved? im sorry if this is a newbie question but i cant get a hold of any of my rotary friends.
by the way if i missed anything for this swap let me know. also if u guys know anyone lookin for any na s5 parts let me know, im about 45 minutes away from philly.

S5(89-91) will require a unique approach to making the electronic metering pump work. With S4 you can just bolt the OMP to the SE cover or ditch it an run premix.Everything else for a S5 swap is pretty straight forward,I found it even easier than the S4 swap I did before going S5.
The S5 ECU must see the omp plugged in and working to prevent limp mode from activating. The S5 OMP will not bolt to an SE or any other 1st gen front cover. To keep the stock ECU,you have two options.....
1st,Have an SE front cover built up,then machined to accept the S5 OMP(I did this and it worked great)
2nd,Tie the S5 OMP off to the side and plug it in to make the ECU happy. Then block off the OMP pad and run premix.
