86 N/A for FC in a GSL-LE

does anyone know if the mounts are the same on a 13b from a 86-87 N/A as the GSL-LE ones? also anyone know how hard it would be to swap the 86 n/a to a gsl le? andhow time consuming?

Totally different.

You can use the engine, if you swap to:

The SE Front cover
The SE Oil Pick-up
The SE Oil Pan
The SE Crossmember.

No, they are different.

If you use all the SE stuff, you should be fine. Use EVERYTHING from the SE engine, and just swap the Block with the FC engine.

Particularly:
The SE Front cover
The SE Oil Pick-up
The SE Oil Pan
The SE Crossmember.

Better?

Oil Pick-Up.

The Cross-member (engine mount) is bolted to the front cover in this pic.

If you keep the Fuel Injection and emmission controls, it shouldn't take more than a day or two, taking your time.

If you just have a carb and header, probably half a day if you know what you're doing.

I don't understand, don't you already have the GSL-SE? Be more specific.

i have a wrecked 87 N/A. the body is fucked. everything in the engine except for a broken throttle cable is great. i want to get a gsl-le and put my 87 n/a engine in it. i wont get any money out of the insurance i bet. so im on a budget. im trying to sell everything i can in my 87 n/a. except what i need for an engine swap.

You do know that if you buy a GSL-SE, - that it already has a fuel injected 13B engine in it right?

It will go into an SE with no problem, with the things I have already listed.

It will go into ANY 1st gen with the same things I have already listed, plus an aftermarket carb.

Easy enough?

1. Sell everything FC related except for the engine itself. You don't need the intakes or anything.

2. Buy blown GSL-SE

3. Remove -SE engine, transfer every external part mentioned in this thread onto FC engine.

4. Reinstall into car.

3. Speeding into a sharp turn is NOT a good idea, some day youre going to post a thread titled "look at my wrecked FC" and everyone will know why.

3. Fishtailing is losing control

i wasnt driving foolishly at all. i was just calmly on my way home from picking up my paycheck. and believe me. from now on, im taking NO chances at all. if i get another RX7 im saving all of my fast driving for the track. even though i wasnt speeding/dragracing/fishtailing at the time of this wreck. im pretty sure HE was speeding! but dont get offf the subject.

how much should i offer for a gsl-le with :

blown motor, perfect everything else?

blown motor, alright body, rust in the rear wheel wells? (almost all rust starts there in first generations i guess)

blown motor, the rest is in bad condition?

suck everything?

$$$$$$$$???????

Well see the car you are looking for is a

<blink><font color="#FF0000">GSL-SE</font></blink>

NOT

GSL-LE

so looking for the right car is a good first step

But as to what you should offer depends on the value of FBs in your area. Check Auto Trader to establish a base line and go from there

Do your reaserch befor hand so you know where to look to check body integrity and the like
